The supply swings without warning here, and it tends to come back harder than it left. This small plug-in box sits between the wall and the appliance, reads the incoming voltage, and drops the connection when it strays too high or too low. Fridges, freezers, air conditioners, television sets. That's what people are really protecting, and the protector costs a small fraction of any one of them. Cheapest insurance in the house.

The mistake we watch buyers make, over and over, is ordering on price and plug type while paying no attention at all to the delay timer. A protector with no working reconnection delay is a socket with a light on it. When the supply comes back, a fridge or an air conditioner that restarts immediately is driving its compressor against residual head pressure, and that's precisely how compressors die. The delay is the point of the whole device. Ask about it before you ask about anything else.
Everything else is deliberately simple, which is why these last. A relay holds the appliance connected while measured voltage stays inside a safe window. Step outside it, whether that's a surge on restoration or a brownout deep enough to stall a motor, and the relay drops out. Supply steadies, the timer runs down, the connection comes back.
The digital readout does more work than it appears to. It puts a number on an invisible problem. A customer who's stood and watched their own supply wander between 150V and 250V on that little screen never needs the product explained to them again, and they go and tell a neighbour. Very few things in this category keep selling themselves after installation. This one does.
Plug format is where orders go wrong, and getting it right costs nothing. Nigeria runs on UK three-pin, BS 1363. The identical internals get built into UK, EU and universal-socket housings, so this comes down purely to writing it down. A trader we know took delivery of a batch in EU format because the listing photo happened to show a UK socket and nobody put the requirement on the order. He sold them anyway, bundled with adapters, which fairly comprehensively undoes the idea of a protected connection. One line on the purchase order would've spared him all of it.
Everything that matters sits behind the plastic
Identical outside, nowhere near identical inside. The entire job rests on one relay and the circuit driving it, and that is exactly where a cheap supplier goes looking for savings: an underrated relay, thin contacts, a delay timer that exists on the box and nowhere in the wiring.
The failure your customer meets. A unit built that way tests perfectly on a shop counter. Then a few months of real switching welds its contacts closed, and from that moment it protects nothing whatsoever while the display carries on glowing away as if all is well. Your customer discovers this when the freezer dies.
What we check. We check the relay rating against the load it claims to carry, confirm the delay genuinely runs rather than taking the datasheet's word for it, and cycle the sample instead of switching it on once and nodding.
SONCAP, and where your attention is worth spending. These fall under SONCAP, so a Product Certificate is issued before anything ships. Freight is barely a factor on something this small, which leaves quality as the only thing your attention is worth spending on.

Below is what gets confirmed before we quote anybody, checked against the actual supplier and against a sample somebody has had in their hands. The reconnection delay and the relay rating get the hardest look of all. Those two are what stands between your customer's freezer and the cost of a new compressor.

Minimum order
Fifty pieces to open an order, counted across everything in the shipment. Ratings and plug formats pool, so fridge-rated units, air-conditioner-rated units and a handful in universal housings all read as one order against that fifty. Freight barely notices the quantity climbing on something this small and light, which means going from 50 to 300 costs you very little more to ship while the certification file spreads thinner and the unit price comes down. Of everything on this site, this is the product where scaling up is cheapest. Own-branded fascias and printed boxes are the exception, and they nudge the floor up toward 100.
Lead time. Standard builds run 15 to 25 days in production once the sample has been signed off. Sea freight into Lagos adds 30 to 40 days. Air is an option on a product this small, and unusually for us it occasionally makes sense here when a customer is waiting and the value per kilo justifies it. SONCAP runs alongside production. Custom fascia printing adds a week or two at the front. The leg nobody budgets for, as ever, is prising the goods off the port and getting them through Lagos traffic.
What decides the right one
Short version. Venocipal holds no stock. Somebody brings us a product, we go and find out who really makes it, verify the specification against a sample, and quote it landed in Nigeria.
The photograph is stripped back on purpose. The original came smothered in claims and socket labels that told you nothing about whether the unit works. What is left is the shape: moulded wall body, digital readout, socket. Look at it and you either say yes, that one, or you say no, I need the in-line kind that goes inside the appliance. Either answer gets us to a price.
Plug format, load rating, adjustable thresholds, display style, whose name goes on the front. All settled at quoting stage. An electrical shop serving households around Ariaria and a facilities company protecting fifty office air conditioners want different builds hiding under one product name.
Fifty is the floor because a SONCAP file costs the same on a small shipment as on a large one, and no factory runs a proper batch below a certain number. Under fifty, certification and handling per unit swallow whatever margin you were counting on. Fifty to a hundred is comfortable. Past that it keeps getting better.

Does it correct the voltage or just cut it?
It cuts, waits, and reconnects. Correcting voltage is a stabiliser's job and this is a different device. If your customers want the voltage actually held steady, say so and we will price stabilisers.
How do I tell a good one from a bad one?
You cannot, from the outside. Nobody can. That is why we open the sample and look at the relay before we quote a supplier at all.
Can you get stabilisers or in-line compressor protectors?
